Catbrook Dog Walkers
Despite our reminder on Facebook about dog poo being left in public places, it seems that it is still happening. Recently a large pile of poo was left at the entrance to the football field on the Broadstone to Whitelye road. May we remind all dog owners that it is an offence not to pick up after your dog - their poo contains many specific bacteria that can be harmful to humans and any poo deposited in a public place should be picked up. There are bags and poo bins in Broadstone and Catbrook so there is no excuse. On this occasion the poo was then further spread by a vehicle before it could be picked up by a community minded neighbour. It is nobody else’s job to pick up after your dog, so please be a responsible dog owner and PICK IT UP!
Because of a number of attempted dog thefts in Trellech in the past couple of years, a Facebook Group has been set up to enable local residents to arrange to walk together, support each other and share any local information relating to dog walking, attempted thefts and ways to stay safe.
You can find the Facebook Group HERE
You may also find the DogHorn website useful. DogHorn is a charity established to help prevent dog thefts.
It is also suggested that you carry a whistle, a phone and possibly an alarm and dog dye so that in the event of an attempted theft you can (a) make a lot of noise and (b) spray your own dog with the red dye to make him or her less appealing to the would be thief.
If you would like to join the group, please visit the Facebook page.
